Courthouse Parking Information:

Circuit and Chancery Court
Pay to park lots surround the area. Adams Avenue has some lots across the street from the courthouse.

Parking can cost $3 to $8 – some lots charge more than others, and most charge by the hour.

Juvenile Court
On Washington Avenue there is a free parking lot across the street from Juvenile Court.

Be sure to factor in your parking when planning your appearance so you arrive on time!

Dress for Court Appropriately:

As they say, “dress to impress!” You are going to stand before a judge and you want to look your absolute best.

The Judge will not only judge you by your appearance, but also by your demeanor, level of respect, and how well you can show that you are responsible and fit. This is a serious visit – dress accordingly!

• For men, wear dress slacks and button up shirts, preferably with a neatly-tied nectie if possible.
• For women, dress pants or other formal business-style attire is recommended.
• No one wearing shorts or tank tops is allowed in the courthouse at all.

Be sure you arrive on time, and that you know what court room you’re supposed to be at. You can check the Docket there if you’re not sure.
